According to an article in Bloomberg, more women than ever are buying luxury cars in China. A third of millionaires in China are women and they want the same expensive status symbols that men want including cars.

Women buying Maseratis in China is triple that in Europe and 30% of China’s Maseratis are bought by women. Women buying Ferraris in China is double the Global average and 20% of the Ferraris bought in China are bought by women. Inquiries about Lamborghinis by women rose 50% at one dealership in China and one dealer had its first female buyer last year.

“Fast cars have always been a man’s world,” said one woman interviewed for the article “Women buying such cars are just seeking an equal standing with our male counterparts.”

The number of Chinese millionaires grew 6.1% last year and the sales of high-end cars increased 60% last year. Undoubtedly successful women in the region will keep purchasing luxury vehicles.
