Want to Drive like Julia Roberts or Don Johnson?

Pretty Woman Lotus Esprit

Want to drive like a celebrity? Volo Auto Museum has an entire collection of actual cars from the actual movies for sale on the site. Want to drive like a prostitute? If so, the Lotus Esprit from the movie Pretty Woman is being being sold for $55,000.

According to the dealer notes: “Both Ferrari and Porsche declined the opportunity to allow the use of their cars in the movie because they did not want to be associated with soliciting prostitutes. Porsche was especially strict on this after the unauthorized use of the 928 Porsche in Risky Business... Their [Lotus] sales tripled in 1990 and 91.”

Or would you rather drive like the cop who busts prostitutes? If so read on…

How would you like to own THE Ferrari—that’s not actually a Ferrari—that Don Johnson drove in Miami Vice?

Apparently, the car is built on a Corvette chassis using a Daytona Sypder kit and Ferrari hardware inside. Well, the prostitute-busting, fake Ferrari is yours for only $140,000-190,000.

LOVED this car, LOVED this movie.  the image of richard gere crossing into LA while Go West’s “King of Wishful Thinking” blares in the background is an auto moment that will be forever emblazoned in my memory.

on an aside, i’m majorly digging the DLAW site.  i recently started an auto blog of my own - http://urbanroadramblings.com - hope you’ll check it out!

Ed Note: Thanks Urban Road Ramblings, we’re digging your site too! Read what URR had to say about DLAW’s Marie Claire story in their post entitled: Sometimes the Fashion Magazines have the Best Auto-Related Articles (Go Figure). Love the title!

Very cool.  Is that Bat-mobile for sale too?  I’d like to own that one.
