A study conducted by Or Yarok, a road safety advocacy group, showed that women were less involved in accidents than men.

Although women make up 50% of the drivers in Israel, in 2009, only 25% of accidents and 16% of severe accidents in Israel involved women.

Or Yarok was founded by Avi Naor when his son was tragically killed in a car accident before he was 20. The organization works with families of young drivers at no cost to help teach them about safe driving. Their material is produced in both Hebrew and Arabic and they have worked with over 100,000 families.
