Duno inducted into Lat Am Sports Hall of Fame

Milka Duno

Milka Duno  was inducted into the Latin American International Sports Hall of Fame today. She is the first Venezuelan athlete to be inducted.

The founder of the Latin American International Sports Hall  of Fame Pitin Guajardo had this to say about Duno: “The Latin American International Sports Hall of Fame is proud and honored to have selected Milka Duno as a 2010 inductee. Milka was selected for her racing achievements, her personal excellence in education and her passion in stressing the importance of education to students of all ages.”

In addition to being a successful racecar driver, Duno is also a naval engineer with four master’s degrees. She is the epitome of a Drive Like a Woman woman.

• Eight professional career race wins at top levels. Numerous wins at minor levels.
• First Hispanic woman, in 93-year history of the race, to compete in the Indy 500.
