Cynthia Telles Named to GM Board
Dr. Cynthia Telles, a neuropsychiatrist, has become the 13th member of the board of GM. Although we’re certainly pleased GM appointed a woman, we must admit that she seems a strange interesting choice.
Dr. Telles has never worked in the auto industry and she is the Director of the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute Spanish-Speaking Psychosocial Clinic. She specializes in the mental health of hispanic populations and was also recently named to the National Advisory Council of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
GM said that appointing Telles “ensures that the company will continue to benefit from a diversity of perspectives and experience.” We don’t necessarily understand it, but we like it.
