Car Couture

The clutch re-invented, from a 1983 Camaro

February 12th, 2010

Pushing the Clutch

We have just discovered Kim White, a handbag designer who makes fabulously chic handbags from recycled car fabric. Her bags have appeared in WWD, British Vogue and Lucky.

We simply love the Camaro clutch, which comes in orange, blue and brown and is made from a 1983 Camaro. But there’s plenty more! Totes from a 1981 Chevy Caprice, handbags from a 1977 Ford Pinto and a 1987 Ford Mustang and a clutch from a 1975 Buick Skylark. The bags are nicer than most of the actual cars!

We applaud you Kim for making fashion forward, eco-friendly, car couture handbags worthy of a Drive Like A Woman woman!

Check out more of her designs below…

If the Camaro clutch is too small for your Prada heels and your Puma racing sneakers you may want to check out this red houndstooth tote, which sells for $380. We love this bag!
