Harveys Madison Large Carry-All, $248
June 22nd, 2010
Fashion Your Seatbelts
Meet the Harveys, Dana and Melanie, who make handbags out of recycled seatbelts. In 1997, they were installing seatbelts in their 1950 Buick and they decided to make a matching handbag for Melanie. They received so many compliments that they decided to turn it into a business. They created Harveys and all of their bags are made from seatbelts.
We love their laptop bag which retails for $208. We know that Drive Like A Women ladies tend to like big bags as we need to carry both our heels and driving shoes every where we go so we also think the Madison Large Carry-All, which retails for $248, is a great every day bag.

Drive Like A Woman 5 Favorites: Moto Pants
Every woman needs the perfect motocross pant as a key Drive Like A Woman wardrobe essential. Balmain championed the look, taking elements of the functional motorcycle pant and reworking them into a more fashion forward, day to day wearable style. Detailing around the knee and other areas provide added panache.
Our 5 moto favorites update the standard wardrobe staple (jeans/leather pants/legging) making them anything but boring—and we know our Drive Like a Woman woman is never boring! We love the subtle details that not only give trousers that added edge, but also create a more flattering finish to the overall silhouette. They elongate the leg and draw attention away from hips and thighs, bringing focus to the knees - on trend and yet still comfortable and practical.
The key to this look is to not play pick and mix with trends. Let the trousers do the talking, and team with simple separates such as a white tee, or vest and blazer. Unless you’re Rihanna in which case throw on a fur vest and work it!
Here are our 5 favorite moto pant looks:
1. The Real Deal: The original Balmain motocross pants straight from the catwalk. For the ultimate in leather luxe, dress up with killer heels and in keeping with the Balmain theme, work with a sharp shouldered upper body silhouette. $5,330.
2. The Stand-out: These leather Preen pants will add instant attitude to any ensemble - so authentic they actually look like they were made for the motorbike. Be prepared to get noticed. $810.
3. The Star Jean: Rihanna looked fantastic in these denim moto pants by Vintage1. For an alternative look that is equally eye catching, try this denim finish for a completely different spin on the trend. Other celebs such as Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson and Kim Kardashian have been seen sporting these jeans. $198.
4: The Dressed Down Legging: James Jeans offers the option for those who want a subtler injection of biker chic. This cotton legging version is simple enough to work into any outfit, with just enough detail to subtly amp up your look. $185.
5. The Bargain: To play with this trend without breaking the bank, we love Topshop’s skinny biker trousers. These pants offer the biker finishing touches without the hefty price tag! $58.

Fashionable and Head-strong: Fur, Tweed, and Leather Helmets
First it’s Monsieur Lagerfeld, now this. Is fur the newest helmet trend? We’ve just discovered the Italian company New Max, and it’s quite a discovery.
They produce helmets for companies like Moschino, Ferrari and Borsalino. Our favorite has got to be the Borsalinos, which are made in a variety of materials including: fur, tweed, and leather.
The Moschino helmets are a little out there, but if you’re looking to get noticed on the road this should do the trick.
We’re also quite fond of the Cromwell Helmets. Click below to see more about Cromwell…

The clutch re-invented, from a 1983 Camaro
February 12th, 2010
Pushing the Clutch
We have just discovered Kim White, a handbag designer who makes fabulously chic handbags from recycled car fabric. Her bags have appeared in WWD, British Vogue and Lucky.
We simply love the Camaro clutch, which comes in orange, blue and brown and is made from a 1983 Camaro. But there’s plenty more! Totes from a 1981 Chevy Caprice, handbags from a 1977 Ford Pinto and a 1987 Ford Mustang and a clutch from a 1975 Buick Skylark. The bags are nicer than most of the actual cars!
We applaud you Kim for making fashion forward, eco-friendly, car couture handbags worthy of a Drive Like A Woman woman!

Paris Hilton sporting the Carrera sunglasses trend.

Trend Alert, Carerra Sunglasses
Carrera sunglasses are going to be everywhere. Yes, another trend from the 80s. Once worn by Don Johnson (Carrera 5512) in the first episode of Miami Vice, they are now back.
Celebs like Paris and Kanye are just starting to sport the new line. So, run on out and get yours.
Carrera was founded in 1956 and took it’s name from the “Carrera Panamerica” in Mexico. They are not affiliated with Porsche. Carrera also makes ski goggles and helmets in addition to sunglasses.
We happen to love these Carrera Safari Sunglasses. Click here to find out what sunglasses celebrities from Steve McQueen (Persol 714 Ratti) to Valentino Rossi (Ray Ban Wayfarer II) wear.

Must-Have for the Road… A Fur Chanel Helmet!
We love our Lagerfeld! He’s a fashion virtuoso. He understands what women want. He has always been a couture icon. But never before has he done something so outrageously DLAW as this…he has designed a fur helmet!
To create a proper helmet the genius KLag partnered up with the fabulous French company Les Ateliers Ruby [We also happen to love Ruby. Watch for an exclusive DLAW interview with Ruby founder Jerome Coste coming soon!] The helmets even have ipods built into them. And get this, they’re actually street legal! We are all abuzz here and although we didn’t think it was possible, we love our Lagerfeld even more!
